WPTC member, Anne R. Humphreys passed away earlier this month. She is also wife of member Sam Berthenthal. She was a faculty member at Carnegie Mellon and an accomplished runner. For more information please read the post-gazette link here.

WPTC member, Leslie Kovach of Norwin High School was the first Pennsylvania girl to cross the finish line and placed 22nd. She will run at the University of Pennsylvania next year with WPTC member Rachel Humphrey who is a freshman at Penn now and orginally of Fox Chapel High School.

WPTC member Nicole Blaesser represented Three Rivers as an AADP athlete in he USATF National Championship/ Twin Cities Marathon 10 Miler on October 5th. The AADP program is sponsored by USATF as a way to help distance runners by paying some of the costs like entry fees or rooms for races selected as AADP and emerging elite athletes. Nicole finished 16th in the Twin Cities race. She will race again on January 9th in the Houston Half Marathon.

Three Rivers awarded WPTC member Adam Lint a grant to offset his expenses to compete in the 100K World Cup that was on November 8 in Tarquina, Italy by USATF Three Rivers.

Club Member Adam Lint has been selected for the 2008 USA 100k Team. He will compete in the International Association of Ultrarunners 100K World Cup on Saturday, November 8 in Tarquina, Italy. Read the complete post.

West Penn Track Club Member, Adam Lint, finished 2nd at the USATF 50 Mile Trail Championship. This year’s event took place at the White River 50 Mile in Crystal Mountain, Washington and included 238 starters. More informations is provided by an article on USATF’s website.
